Of the 114 pupils who finished Year 11 at Aldercar High School in 2023, 46% stayed on in Aldercar High School’s own sixth form (Derbyshire average 34%), 35% went to a further education college and 6% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 55 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 22% went to university (Derbyshire 42%, England 37%), and 6% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 22% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.

A level grades average D-, well below the England average of B-. The largest A level subjects are Business Studies, Psychology and English Language and Literature.

GCSE results in 2025 were well below the national picture: Attainment 8 of 33.9 against 46.1 across England and 45.0 in Derbyshire, with 22% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).
