Of the 287 pupils who finished Year 11 at Nunthorpe School & Sixth Form in 2023, 27% stayed on in Nunthorpe School & Sixth Form’s own sixth form (Redcar and Cleveland average 6%), 46% went to a further education college and 6% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 75 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 59% went to university (Redcar and Cleveland 49%, England 37%), and 13% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

German is unusually popular at GCSE: 28% of the year group took it, against 5% of pupils across England.

GCSE results in 2025 were in line with the national picture: Attainment 8 of 47.0 against 46.1 across England and 44.4 in Redcar and Cleveland, with 45% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).
