What the data says

Of the 268 pupils who finished Year 11 at Kenton School in 2023, 34% stayed on in Kenton School’s own sixth form (Newcastle upon Tyne average 39%), 40% went to a further education college and 3% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 114 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 30% went to university (Newcastle upon Tyne 29%, England 37%), and 9% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

Photography is unusually popular at GCSE: 25% of the year group took it, against 6% of pupils across England.

11% of leavers were not in sustained education, employment or training six months on, compared with 6% nationally.
