What the data says

Of the 225 pupils who finished Year 11 at Holyrood Academy in 2023, 36% stayed on in Holyrood Academy’s own sixth form (Somerset average 17%), 25% went to a further education college and 8% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 80 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 28% went to university (Somerset 24%, England 37%), and 12% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 18% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.

Art and Design is unusually popular at GCSE: 50% of the year group took it, against 7% of pupils across England.

Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 8% of leavers started one, roughly twice the England figure of 3%.
