What the data says

Of the 235 pupils who finished Year 11 at Winchmore School in 2023, 69% stayed on in Winchmore School’s own sixth form (Enfield average 57%), 20% went to a further education college and 1% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 204 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 53% went to university (Enfield 55%, England 37%), and 15% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

Sociology is unusually popular at GCSE: 21% of the year group took it, against 4% of pupils across England.

GCSE results in 2025 were in line with the national picture: Attainment 8 of 46.2 against 46.1 across England and 46.3 in Enfield, with 42% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).
