Of the 298 pupils who finished Year 11 at Winterbourne Academy in 2023, 46% stayed on in Winterbourne Academy’s own sixth form (South Gloucestershire average 36%), 31% went to a further education college and 6% started an apprenticeship.
Among the 160 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 48% went to university (South Gloucestershire 26%, England 37%), and 20% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.
GCSE results in 2025 were above the national picture: Attainment 8 of 52.0 against 46.1 across England and 42.9 in South Gloucestershire, with 59% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).
Almost every leaver found a sustained destination: only 2% were not in education, work or training six months on, against 6% nationally.
