Of the 296 pupils who finished Year 11 at Consett Academy in 2023, 37% stayed on in Consett Academy’s own sixth form (County Durham average 30%), 48% went to a further education college and 4% started an apprenticeship.
Among the 57 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 53% went to university (County Durham 32%, England 37%), and 34% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.
Photography is unusually popular at GCSE: 22% of the year group took it, against 6% of pupils across England.
