Of the 124 pupils who finished Year 11 at Devonport High School for Girls in 2023, 96% stayed on in Devonport High School for Girls’ own sixth form (Plymouth average 40%), 2% went to a further education college and none started an apprenticeship.

GCSE results in 2025 were well above the national picture: Attainment 8 of 73.8 against 46.1 across England and 45.7 in Plymouth, with 98% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%) — as a selective grammar school, Devonport High School for Girls admits pupils by test at 11, which drives these figures.

Among the 95 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 46% went to university (Plymouth 26%, England 37%), and 45% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

Drama is unusually popular at GCSE: 37% of the year group took it, against 7% of pupils across England.
