What the data says
Of the 298 pupils who finished Year 11 at Ossett Academy and Sixth Form College in 2023, 37% stayed on in Ossett Academy and Sixth Form College’s own sixth form (Wakefield average 12%), 29% went to a further education college and 7% started an apprenticeship.
Among the 126 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 32% went to university (Wakefield 35%, England 37%), and 10% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 15% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.
Photography is unusually popular at GCSE: 20% of the year group took it, against 6% of pupils across England.
