Of the 126 pupils who finished Year 11 at Queen Elizabeth School in 2023, 73% stayed on in Queen Elizabeth School’s own sixth form (Westmorland and Furness average 32%), 21% went to a further education college and 2% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 75 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 51% went to university (Westmorland and Furness 27%, England 37%), and 43% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

GCSE results in 2025 were well above the national picture: Attainment 8 of 59.6 against 46.1 across England and 45.4 in Westmorland and Furness, with 69% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).

Art and Design is unusually popular at GCSE: 50% of the year group took it, against 7% of pupils across England.
