Of the 339 pupils who finished Year 11 at Waltham Toll Bar Academy in 2023, 20% stayed on in Waltham Toll Bar Academy’s own sixth form (North East Lincolnshire average 6%), 27% went to a further education college and 11% started an apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 11% of leavers started one, roughly three times the England figure of 3%.

Among the 76 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 54% went to university (North East Lincolnshire 21%, England 37%), and 17% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 16% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.

Sixth form colleges are the main next step: 34% of leavers went to one, roughly twice the England rate of 13%.
