Holderness Academy has no sixth form. Of the 202 pupils who finished Year 11 there in 2023, 34% moved to a sixth form college, 25% to a further education college and 11% started an apprenticeship.
Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 11% of leavers started one, roughly three times the England figure of 3%.
Among the 69 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 43% went to university (East Riding of Yorkshire 37%, England 37%), and 8% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 20% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.
Sixth form colleges are the main next step: 34% of leavers went to one, roughly twice the England rate of 13%.
