Cockburn School has no sixth form. Of the 221 pupils who finished Year 11 there in 2023, 20% moved to a sixth form college, 36% to a further education college and 2% started an apprenticeship.

Design and Technology is unusually popular at GCSE: 27% of the year group took it, against 11% of pupils across England.

GCSE results in 2025 were above the national picture: Attainment 8 of 49.1 against 46.1 across England and 45.5 in Leeds, with 45% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).

Languages are a small part of the curriculum here: entries in Spanish add up to 15% of the year group, and 19% of pupils entered the full EBacc set of subjects (England 41%).
