Winterhill School has no sixth form. Of the 163 pupils who finished Year 11 there in 2023, 31% moved to a sixth form college, 39% to a further education college and 3% started an apprenticeship.

13% of leavers were not in sustained education, employment or training six months on, compared with 6% nationally.

Sixth form colleges are the main next step: 31% of leavers went to one, roughly twice the England rate of 13%.
