What the data says

Of the 183 pupils who finished Year 11 at Maltby Academy in 2023, 37% stayed on in Maltby Academy’s own sixth form (Rotherham average 24%), 30% went to a further education college and 6% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 74 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 46% went to university (Rotherham 29%, England 37%), and 4% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

Art and Design is unusually popular at GCSE: 25% of the year group took it, against 7% of pupils across England.

10% of leavers were not in sustained education, employment or training six months on, compared with 6% nationally.
