What the data says

Of the 131 pupils who finished Year 11 at WMG Academy for Young Engineers in 2023, 46% stayed on in WMG Academy for Young Engineers’ own sixth form (Coventry average 46%), 29% went to a further education college and 8% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 123 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 41% went to university (Coventry 39%, England 37%), and 8% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 22% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.

Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 8% of leavers started one, roughly twice the England figure of 3%.

A level grades average C-, well below the England average of B-. The largest A level subjects are Mathematics, Physics and Product Design.
