What the data says

Of the 228 pupils who finished Year 11 at Launceston College in 2023, 23% stayed on in Launceston College’s own sixth form (Cornwall average 15%), 19% went to a further education college and 4% started an apprenticeship.

Sixth form colleges are the main next step: 40% of leavers went to one, roughly three times the England rate of 13%.

Art and Design is unusually popular at GCSE: 26% of the year group took it, against 7% of pupils across England.

Among the 98 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 29% went to university (Cornwall 24%, England 37%), and 20% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 16% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.
