What the data says

Of the 263 pupils who finished Year 11 at Tapton School & Sixth Form in 2023, 66% stayed on in Tapton School & Sixth Form’s own sixth form (Sheffield average 36%), 21% went to a further education college and 2% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 224 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 63% went to university (Sheffield 37%, England 37%), and 41% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

GCSE results in 2025 were well above the national picture: Attainment 8 of 58.0 against 46.1 across England and 43.2 in Sheffield, with 68% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).

Chemistry is unusually popular at GCSE: 77% of the year group took it, against 23% of pupils across England.
