Of the 222 pupils who finished Year 11 at Tewkesbury Academy in 2023, 45% stayed on in Tewkesbury Academy’s own sixth form (Gloucestershire average 46%), 34% went to a further education college and 4% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 85 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 49% went to university (Gloucestershire 36%, England 37%), and 17% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 12% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.

Sociology is unusually popular at GCSE: 38% of the year group took it, against 4% of pupils across England.

A level grades average C-, well below the England average of B-; 2% of students achieved AAB or better including two facilitating subjects (England 18%). The largest A level subjects are Sociology, Business Studies and Psychology.
