What the data says

Of the 302 pupils who finished Year 11 at Woodkirk Academy in 2023, 42% stayed on in Woodkirk Academy’s own sixth form (Leeds average 32%), 37% went to a further education college and 4% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 160 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 54% went to university (Leeds 35%, England 37%), and 18% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

GCSE results in 2025 were above the national picture: Attainment 8 of 52.8 against 46.1 across England and 45.5 in Leeds, with 63% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).

French is unusually popular at GCSE: 33% of the year group took it, against 18% of pupils across England.
