What the data says

Of the 287 pupils who finished Year 11 at Mulberry Academy St Leonards in 2023, 37% moved to a sixth form college and 45% to a further education college.

GCSE results in 2025 were well below the national picture: Attainment 8 of 33.2 against 46.1 across England and 43.1 in East Sussex, with 25% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).

Sixth form colleges are the main next step: 37% of leavers went to one, roughly three times the England rate of 13%.

Sociology is unusually popular at GCSE: 20% of the year group took it, against 4% of pupils across England.
