Of the 180 pupils who finished Year 11 at Sir Bernard Lovell Academy in 2023, 47% stayed on in Sir Bernard Lovell Academy’s own sixth form (South Gloucestershire average 36%), 12% went to a further education college and 8% started an apprenticeship.
Among the 78 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 24% went to university (South Gloucestershire 26%, England 37%), and 5% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 18% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.
Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 8% of leavers started one, roughly twice the England figure of 3%.
