What the data says

Of the 81 pupils who finished Year 11 at St John Henry Newman Catholic School in 2023, 17% stayed on in St John Henry Newman Catholic School’s own sixth form (Cumberland average 37%), 54% went to a further education college and 10% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 20 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 70% went to university (Cumberland 33%, England 37%), and 15% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

Spanish is unusually popular at GCSE: 62% of the year group took it, against 19% of pupils across England.
