What the data says

Of the 92 pupils who finished Year 11 at Millom School in 2023, 15% stayed on in Millom School’s own sixth form (Cumberland average 37%), 33% went to a further education college and 30% started an apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 30% of leavers started one, roughly three times the England figure of 3%.

Among the 14 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 36% went to university (Cumberland 33%, England 37%), and 0% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 29% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.

Media Studies is unusually popular at GCSE: 29% of the year group took it, against 4% of pupils across England.
