What the data says

The Herewoode Academy has no sixth form. Of the 171 pupils who finished Year 11 there in 2023, 35% moved to a sixth form college, 36% to a further education college and 2% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 17 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 0% went to university (Leicester 40%, England 37%), and 8% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 18% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.

Sixth form colleges are the main next step: 35% of leavers went to one, roughly twice the England rate of 13%.

GCSE results in 2025 were below the national picture: Attainment 8 of 39.4 against 46.1 across England and 45.5 in Leicester, with 28% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).
