What the data says

Of the 90 pupils who finished Year 11 at Waterside Academy in 2023, 20% moved to a sixth form college, 33% to a further education college and none started an apprenticeship.

Art and Design is unusually popular at GCSE: 35% of the year group took it, against 7% of pupils across England.

GCSE results in 2025 were in line with the national picture: Attainment 8 of 44.6 against 46.1 across England and 50.5 in Hackney, with 41% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).

Almost nobody goes straight into an apprenticeship or a job: none took an apprenticeship and 1% went into work, against 3% and 3% across England.
