What the data says

Of the 105 pupils who finished Year 11 at Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology in 2023, 27% stayed on in Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology’s own sixth form (Cambridgeshire average 24%), 19% went to a further education college and none started an apprenticeship.

Among the 65 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 52% went to university (Cambridgeshire 39%, England 37%), and 25% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

Sixth form colleges are the main next step: 39% of leavers went to one, roughly three times the England rate of 13%.

GCSE results in 2025 were well above the national picture: Attainment 8 of 56.8 against 46.1 across England and 48.1 in Cambridgeshire, with 64% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).
