What the data says
Of the 120 pupils who finished Year 11 at UTC Reading in 2023, 48% stayed on in UTC Reading’s own sixth form (Reading average 51%), 30% went to a further education college and 1% started an apprenticeship.
Among the 96 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 47% went to university (Reading 56%, England 37%), and 4% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 13% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.
Computer Science is unusually popular at GCSE: 62% of the year group took it, against 13% of pupils across England.
A level grades average D+, well below the England average of B-. The largest A level subjects are Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics.
