Of the 209 pupils who finished Year 11 at The JCB Academy in 2023, 41% stayed on in The JCB Academy’s own sixth form (Staffordshire average 33%), 30% went to a further education college and 16% started an apprenticeship.
Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 16% of leavers started one, roughly three times the England figure of 3%.
Among the 125 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 17% went to university (Staffordshire 33%, England 37%), and 5% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 42% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.
Business Studies is unusually popular at GCSE: 96% of the year group took it, against 18% of pupils across England.
